Q: Do I need to know HTML to input new content?

A: Knowledge of HTML is NOT NEEDED to be a Toko Web Editor. All you have to do is fill in the blanks that appear on the Toko Edit Screen on your browser. The developer will have strategically designed your site with Toko Tags making updating a breeze.

Q: What protects my pages from someone not authorized to make changes?

A: The Toko Editor is password protected limiting access to your system. You can assign passwords to different people in your organization thus permitting them access to only the specific pages you choose. You can also grant multiple people access to the same page in your site.

Q: Is there a limit to how many pages can be edited using Toko?

A: Absolutely not. It is totally up to the developer who designs your site. It is very easy to turn a static page into a Toko page by simply adding the Toko Tags and setting up that page in the configuration file.

Q: Can I do this myself or do I send you the information for my Web Site?

A: The Toko system was designed so that anyone with a working knowledge of HTML can incorporate it into their site. We have full online documentation to help you through the process and have support Forum if you need to ask one of our tech support people for assistance.

Q: What can I change on my page ?

A: This is the most powerful feature of Toko. You can setup any single element on your page to become a Toko edit area. It can be as specific as the background color of the web page or as open as section on the page. Please look at our demo to fully understand the tagging process.

Q: How often can I make changes?

A: Changes can be made as often as you need them. For example, if you are posting the scores of your favourite baseball team, as soon as the game is over you can jump on to any web browser in the world, enter in your password and just type in the score and it will be updated instantly.

Q: Does Toko work on all Web browsers?

A: YES.

Q: Who sets up the system on my server?

A: That responsibility falls on the site developers shoulders. The Toko system requires that you install php Scripts into your web account. A few minor file paths need to be modified inside a config file to match how your server and files are set up. You then need to add in the Toko Tags on your web pages.

Q: Does it work on all servers?

A: The only requirement is that your Web Hosting Company gives you access to php to run your own scripts. The program is written in php so the server must have php access (almost every server does).

Q: Can I use Toko on more than one of my sites?

A: Toko is not licensed to a specific Domain account. So the answer is yes.

Q: Can I retro fit an already built site with Toko or do I have to start over from scratch?

A: It is extremely easy to turn your static page into a Toko. After installing the program onto your server, modifying the configuration file all you need to do is put Toko Tags around the elements on your pages that you want to be able to update.

Q: Can I change passwords and access to my site if I change responsibilities or an employee leaves?

A: Yes and it is very easy. The Toko Configuration File is where all the settings for your site are located. All you have to do is bring this file up in a word processor and change the user names and passwords associated to a specific Toko site. Then just save the file and place it back on the server.

Q: Can I download a trial program so I can test it on my site?

A: Absolutely Yes, you may download our free version to get the feeling of the application.

Q: What is Content Management all about?

A: A Web Content Management System (CMS) is a site content building and editing tool that allows a group of non-technical users to remotely create and update web content. Q: Do I need previous training to work with Toko?

A: No, there is no special training required in order to work with Toko. Our tool is easy to install and easy to use. Web-based content publishing and management allows to accomplish all the tasks faster with the help of its intuitive interface. You can start working with the program immediately after its installation.

Q: Can I use Toko on my existing website?

A: Yes. Toko can be integrated with your website architecture in no time .

Q: What are the system requirements for Toko?

A: Client-side: MS Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP MS IE 5.5 and higher (JavaScript, cookies enabled) Server-side: PHP 4.3.3 (or up) write access right to your files

Q: Does Toko Content Editor work on a Windows web server?
A: Yes.

Q: Does Toko Web Editor work with PHP3?
A: No. You must upgrade to PHP4.3.3 or have your host upgrade to PHP4.3.3 or up.

Q: I get a "permissions denied" message when trying to save. What's wrong?
A: Make sure the file permissions for the web page you are editing are set to
 allow read and write capabilities for the "nobody" user.    

Q: No text is showing up in the edit area. What's wrong?
A: Make sure to place the Toko tags in the pages you want your client to edit.
   This will tell the program what is editable and what is not.
   We recommend putting the tags on seperate new lines.

Q: The Toko name is not displayed.
A: Try to place the toko tags on their own line.

Q: None of the drop down menu's are reading the files and directories.
A: Make sure the rootpath variable is correct in the toko.conf file.

Q: I can see all the folders for my website, but no files ever appear in the
   files drop-down menu.

A: Toko Web Editor will only display files in the drop down menu that have the
   correct opening and closing tags. If a file does not have any
    tags, or if the tags are invalid, then the file will NOT appear
   in the drop-down menu.

Q: Can I have more than one edit area per page?
A: Yes. This feature is one of the advantages of Toko over other content management applications.

Q: The editor isn't displaying the name correctly. What's wrong?
A: Make sure that you gave the correct name. do NOT have other tags or comments mixed in with the Toko tags.
